corpsebride36: LOST CAMERA

Hello, my name is Jessica, but most people call me J-Chan. I lost a KODAK DX4330 DIGITAL CAMERA at Nan Desu Kan, and it was never handed into ops or the front desk. I don't care if someone took it and kept it, but I have photos on that camera card from personal trips and family events as well as my Japanese hosting that I need. If someone fesses up, you can keep the camera, but I need my card. If anyone has it or knows anything you can post here or contact me privately at this e-mail: jmrxthree@comcast.net

lilacwire: NDK Craftsmanship

A little note to anyone who was craftsmanship judged at the NDK Masquerade: none of our craftsmanship awards were given out at the competition. They gave out presentation, but none of craftsmanship. A list of winners should be going up on the NDK forums and I will cross post it here and cosplay.com.

We were RUSHED through judging. If anyone thought that the halftime was really short - yes, it was. Everyone was leaving the masquerade and we were still talking about all your wonderful costumes in a room nearby. I'm so sorry it turned out like that.

We asked for the craftsmanship winners to be announced at closing ceremonies and were told it wasn't possible. Hopefully we can get this situation remedied.

--Just a little note from one of your craftsmanship judges

darth_teca: Denver Costume and Cosplay Society

Hey guys! So it's getting really close to NDK! Are you all ready and excited?

I wanted to let everyone here know that there is a new cosplay society that is being unveiled at NDK! Some of you might remember and/or participated in the Denver Cosplay Society a few years back. Well, it's been revived but in a new and improved form! Re-named the Denver Costume and Cosplay Society, we're hoping to not only get the wide cosplayer base that the previous DCS enjoyed but also include all kinds of costuming. We plan on helping and encouraging costuming from conceptualization to final presentation! The group will provide gatherings, photo shoots, tips, workshops and tutorials, and a just great way to meet other people without having to wait till the next NDK rolls around! Members will also get special discounts at Digital Dreams Photography by Laura Vasilion/ sapphic_lens and make-up by a local professional make-up team. The DCCS website, that includes our mission statement, can be found here. It's a little sparse right now, but the forums, galleries and other sections will be going up soon!

We'll be hosting a panel at NDK on Friday, 7PM in the Primrose events room. We'll be hoping to give a bit more detailed talk about the group, what we see in the future and also get feedback from people about what you would like to see the group do! Please come visit us because we would love to meet all of you and have you participate!

toshimasa: Make-up for Cosplay

Hi all! Before I post anything I just want to be sure that this is allowed. If not, feel free to delete.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

Where should I start! To begin, my friend Alison and I are starting a service where we offer make-up applications to people attending conventions, photoshoots, and other various events (wedding, proms, senior photos, etc).

With NDK just around the corner, I wanted to start getting the word out that we are open for scheduling the entire weekend of NDK.

We range from basic beauty (base, eyes, cheeks, lips) to extreme applications such as tattoos and prosthetics. The website gives you a good overview of what is offered, but the break down is as followedCollapse )

For concerns and questions please contact me: samantha.k.rose @ gmail.com

Thanks everybody! This has been x-posted in a couple other communities.

tsukitaichou: BLEACH at NDK 07

Hey guys!

I'm looking to see if anyone else is planning on cosplaying BLEACH for NDK - especially Arrancar.
My friend (schwann) and I are going as Aizen and Ulquiorra, as well as Shinji and Ichigo. We might do one more set (Gin and Kira?) but I don't know yet; we'll see how the money goes.

ANYWAY!
We'd love to see more BLEACH people, so if you're interested, let us know!

Also, as a side note, we have room in our hotel room for two more people (so far, it's just me an her), and we have it on Sunday night, as well. SO if anyone needs a place, let us know.

See you all there! ♥

ssfseiyakou: Last Chance at NDK and Cosplay give away

While this IS cosplay-related, it's also part advertisement, so I'll put most of it behind a cut as to hopefully not annoy people.
Last Chance Myu's NDK 2007 Performance and Goodie GiveawayCollapse )

I also want to let everyone know that anyone who comes to our show on dressed in any sort of Sailor Moon costume will get a door prize! (While quantities last.) And anyone who comes dressed in a Sera Myu costume will get their picture taken and posted on our website in a special gallery.

I hope to see everyone there!

story_of_a_wolf: Sasuke hair

I truly apologize if this is not allowed, but right now I'm doing a quick post on my friend's computer.

Calling out all Sasuke cosplayers! Whether or not you have used your own hair or an artificial wig, I would be appreciated if you could list all of the hair products you have used to create Sasuke's hair (more specifically, the spiked part in the back). Such as, gel, hair spray, type of straightener if you needed to use one, etc.

I'm planning to cosplay as Sasuke and since I am planning to use my own hair for this, it would be awesome if I get more replies from people who did the same, but it isn't a must, any help will do! And also, I would like to know how short you cut your hair in the back - like was it above the shoulders, just on the shoulders, etc.

Oh, by the way, it would be AMAZING if people could provide me cosplay pictures of what they were talking about.
Thank you very much! :)

lightningrapier: BuriMyu (Bleach Musical) Cosplay Group, Recruiting Members!!

Hey everyone!

My cosplay group, Yume no Densetsu, is once again recruiting members. This time, the theme is BuriMyu. We just started this project, so almost all characters are open, including Ichigo.

The characters we'd like to get are:

Kurosaki Ichigo, Yasutora "Chad" Sado, Inoue Orihime, Urahara Kisuke, Kuchiki Byakuya, Abarai Renji, and Kuchiki Rukia. We'll look for more characters if we get all our slots filled.

You can find out all our information at our BuriMyu site, as well as the application form and all that.

Please to note: We're located in COLORADO, so we're looking for people mostly from our state.
We WILL take out of state members, but not TOO far out of state - it's just a hassle, and we've had bad experiences in the past.

Anyway, please come check it out, and let us know if you have any questions or any of that!

endoftheworld98: for next year...will you recognize us? ;)

Hey everyone :)
I think this might be my first post here, actually, but next year will be my 5th NDK  ^.^
Some friends and I were discussing our costumes for next year, which got me wondering....You see, I usually stick with jrock cosplay because I'm a much bigger jrock fan than of anime (and of anything else for that matter XD) and for the most part, I prefer the jrock scene at NDK. However, last year at a jrock panel, I asked if anyone would recognize me if I crossplayed Demon Kogure from Seikima II and no one there even knew who he was. I don't like new mainstream jrock bands much, and even if I was a big Dir en grey fan, like NDK needs another Deg cosplayer.
I would have still had fun dressing as him, but I doubt anyone I know would want to dress as another of Seikima II's band members because it would be pretty expensive. And so we decided that for what is probably our last NDK (since it will be our senior year and if we stay for in-state college, we'll be too poor to go ;_;) we're going to have a "From Eroica with Love" manga cosplay group. (Can you tell I like old-school? I've also been an X Japan cosplayer for the past two years ^^)
Anywho, I guess the whole point of this post is to ask:
If there is a "From Eroica with Love" (Eroica Yori Ai wo Komete) group at NDK next year, will anyone recognize us?
~just out of curiosity...;p
And if so, anyone who wants to is more that willing to join us! :D We've only got Eroica, the Major, Agent G, and James so far.
